Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures. It is a major surgical procedure that can reduce sagging in the abdomen and strengthen the abdominal wall muscles, revealing a more fit and shapely abdomen with thinner lines. It is a surgical procedure in which excess fat and sagging skin in the anterior part of the abdomen are removed and weak abdominal muscles are stretched and strengthened.
This surgery, which ideally corrects the appearance of the belly and abdomen, leaves a permanent scar, but the scar is adjusted so that it remains in the underwear. Abdominoplasty surgery can be performed in combination with other surgeries such as aesthetic surgeries, uterus and ovarian surgeries, except for the reduction of very large breasts.
There are three types of abdominoplasty surgery. Full abdominoplasty surgery are two types: the type in which the navel is replaced and the type in which the navel is not replaced. In reverse abdominoplasty, the scar of this type of abdominoplasty surgery performed by plastic surgeons remains slightly below the breasts. Therefore, it is rarely preferred. Mini-abdominoplasty is a modified version of a traditional abdominoplasty. Mini-abdominoplasty is a procedure performed on patients with excess skin and excess fat below the belly button. Muscle stretching is performed here if needed.
As with most procedures, abdominoplasty is effective in people who meet certain criteria. The ideal candidates are people who are in good shape but have problem areas on their body where diet and exercise do not help. Abdominoplasty is not a weight loss procedure. It serves to benefit people who want to improve the appearance of the abdomen; it does not completely change the volume and shape of the abdomen.
